For 8 months of the year, FarmEd has no trekkers. Our progress stagnates and as a registered business in Australia (and almost fully registered in Fiji), this is unsustainable in the long term. The process of going out and visiting farms to try and make workshop sales is also very slow with a small percentage of sales going through. Many farmers have complained to us that they don’t have enough crops to supply hotels and lose profit when they sell to middlemen, that they don’t have enough money for tractors, water pumps and other machinery, that they can only grow 2 or 3 types of crops. When the January 18 FarmEd team arrived in Fiji, there were *so * many spreadsheets with varying categories and corresponding forms on the Google Drive.
