Project Summary

This month the Energy team had a focus on selling proxy products in order to test usability, as well as the payment plan created in conjunction with the microfinance project. There was also a focus on testing different potential methods of distribution that will allow the project to become autonomous. The largest goal that was achieved throughout the month of July was the sale of 76 proxy units, with 29 of these being upfront and 47 on the six month payment plan. This will allow for future...

Introduction: The proxy product the energy team has been using in July had features and problems that the July team was not satisfied with. In particular, the AC charger and the lead-acid battery of the GDLite were identified as areas that need to change; This is due to the risk of overcharging when charged through an AC connection. Work Update

The Energy project in Malawi has moved to a new phase where we have begun to test our business model using a proxy product and have sold several products. This proxy product has allowed the team to make the first sales for PEV in Africa, with nine sales...

The main issues that these demographics face are in physical and financial barriers. When they are unable to afford to live in an area already connected to the grid they are...

For this month there are a series of goals that we are aiming to achieve, in the areas of both understanding the population and its needs, and moving forward with a prototype. -       Demographic analysis of at least 50 individuals, businesses and organisations to create a cost/benefits analysis of both the social and financial aspects of the project. -...
