Lean Phase: Unique Value Proposition

Purpose: To determine whether or not our customer segment would pay for a solution which advises on foods to add for a wholesome diet.

Assumption: Mothers are willing to pay 200 MK for a minimum viable product (MVP) which solves the problem.

Time Box: January Weeks 3-4

Success Metric: 50% of customers are willing to pay for an MVP.

CRITERIA

Green light: Proceed to Solution and Utility Testing.

Success point: 20 or more mothers in 2 days would pay for a solution.

Orange light: Assess responses and determine why they are not interested in a paid solution. Reiterate MVP based on current UVP.

Failure point: Less than 10 mothers in 2 days are willing to pay for our MVP.

Red light: Reiterate UVP based on problem definition (offer testing experiment).

Experimental Design

  1. Download USTAWI app (MVP) and become familiar with its use.

  2. Determine times and locations to arrange a clinic to sell MVP, in this case, afternoon time on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday at under 5 clinics in local area.

  3. Create poster advertising times and locations to interact with MVP, include transparent information on price and quality of product (only a trial but cheap).

  4. Put up posters around the areas of intended clinics at least 2 days beforehand.

  5. Attend clinics at times advertised on poster and engage with customers.

  6. Create rapport with customer through a script focusing on confirming assumed problem and if they would like a solution.

  7. Propose MVP with transparency on the quality of the product and emphasise that the product is in early stages.

  8. Charge 200MK for a single use of the USTAWI app. If yes, continue. If not, ask what sort of fees or angles would be preferable. Record numbers of people who agree and refuse.

  9. Using trekkers phones with the app downloaded, trekkers will help customers fill out survey one by one and show them final report on app and elaborate on the benefit of adding those foods to their diet.

  10. Victory
