Lean Phase: Solution / MVP Testing

Assumption:

  1. Businesses, organisations and non-government organisations (NGOs) are willing to purchase a premium model, an extension of the data dashboard obtained from farmers giving extra information about each farm.

Time Box:

3 weeks

 Goal:

Conduct meetings with 20 different businesses with the purpose of validating the need for a data dashboard premium model.

 Key Metric:

  1. Percentage of the stakeholders that are willing to purchase a premium model of the data dashboard

  2. Percentage of the stakeholders that are not willing to purchase a premium model but are willing to negotiate alternative dashboard content

Green light

  • More than 50% of the stakeholders are willing to purchase a premium model of the data
  • More than 50% of stakeholders not willing to purchase a premium package for the dashboard are willing to negotiate alternative package content

Proceed: Develop a premium subscription of the data dashboard in the future.

 Orange light:

  • 30% to 50% of the stakeholders are willing to purchase a premium model of the data
  • 30% to 50% of the stakeholders are not willing to purchase but can negotiate alternative package content

Optimize: Alter the content included in the premium model of the data

Red light:

  • Less than 30% of the stakeholders are willing to purchase a premium model of the data
  • Less than 30% of the stakeholders are not willing to purchase but can negotiate alternative package content

Failure Protocol:

  • Re-plan pitch based on feedback
  • Incorporate feedback into the app prototype
  • Reschedule meetings
  • Continue with currency testing for data dashboard experiment

 Experiment Build:

  1. Prepare pitch and presentation aids (posters or powerpoints)

  2. Pitch features of the premium model and express it's differentiation from the original model (both verbally and visually if possible)

  3. Explicitly ask stakeholders if interested in premium model

  • If interested hand over to currency test experiment
  • If not interested in premium model, derive the reason why and attempt to obtain suggestions of improvement
  1. Add meeting details to HubSpot

  • Contact details for new contacts made
  • Significant discussion points
  • Feedback on the premium model features
