[Proposed Experiment for January] Fuel Fiji Dec 2018 - Distribution Channel (Village Chiefs) 2/4

Lean Phase: Supply Chain and Key Activities

Assumption:

1. That there are multiple customer segments in villages that we can target effectively in different ways, increasing the reach of our product,

2. That there is a customer segment that will get in contact with the respective village chiefs to express interest in buying a Buka Stove

Time Box: 4 weeks

Key Metrics:

  1. Number of potential leads generated in comparison to the households in the village

  2. Conversion of potential leads to closed leads

Success Criteria

Green Light Point – 10% of potential leads generated in comparison to the households in the village and 40% of leads converted to closed leads

Green Light Proceed:  Solidify the distribution channel by setting up an autonomous ordering and delivery system. Potentially hiring an employee to further implement the channel.

Orange Light Point -  5% - 10% of potential leads generated in comparison to the households in the village and 20% - 40% of leads converted to closed leads.

Orange Light optimise:  Increasing marketing material, providing more information on the stoves and lowering the price point. Working with the Village Chiefs to improve marketing and distribution techniques.

Red Light Point – Less than 5% leads generated in comparison to the households in the village and less than 10% of stoves sold from the leads generated

Red Light Failure: removing the EOI sheets from that village and move on to repeating this test with other villages.

Experiment build:

  1. Reaching out to existing and new village headmen (Villages approached so far Korolevu, Keiyasi, Soutabo, Nawamgi, Namatakula, Sanasana, Votualalai)

  2. Pitching Fuel to the village headmen and the village chief

  3. Demonstrating the Buka Stove for the village

  4. Signing an MOU with the village chief

  5. Village chief will collect the EOIs over the 2 weeks period

  6. Another 2 week period to supply the stoves and receive payments

10% of potential leads?

10% of village population? 10% of the number of households. If you have 100 households with an average of 4 per house, then you have a population of 400 people... this doesn't mean 10% of 400 would want one... it would be realistic to expect 10% of households would want one though.

Let's just define this more clearly for more accurate data collection.
