CE SAIN meeting

Today (at 2pm) Jimmy, Ciaran and myself are meeting with a potential collaborative partner, CE SAIN, for FarmEd in Phnom Penh. CE SAIN is an USAID funded initiative that runs out of the Royal University of Agriculture in Phnom Penh.

The goal of CE SAIN is to foster collaboration between private, public, government sectors. CE SAIM aims to foster private sector innovation as well as improve agriculture research, education, training and public sector capacity building via knowledge sharing on improving agriculture in Cambodia.

To do this, CE SAIN has set up a number of technology parks, including one in Siem Reap which the previous July FarmEd team visited.  These parks include innovation labs researching into areas such as integrated pest management, horticulture and nutrition.

CE SAIN has expressed that the aim of these technology parks is to attract private sector participation in research, farmer networks, and workshops. Hence the aim of the meeting is to further convince CE SAIN that FarmEd is a viable partner to collaborate with. Their research and resources will be especially helpful in further setting up the field development teams' test farm and blueprint. Similar, this partnership would help the market analysis team further connect with farmers to prove the viability of the blueprint model.

I have attached the document we would be providing CE SAIN about FarmEd. Any feedback is welcome!
