Hi Trekkers/Team,

I have some very useful suggestions on how we can more efficiently and effectively collect survey data, so I thought it would be a nice idea for us to discuss the different ways in which we can do this.

The teams in Malawi have all been using Google Forms as the primary platform for surveying, yet we all encountered the same problem, it does not work offline. If we are in areas with no mobile reception, we have to resort to pen and paper. This makes data collection significantly more complicated.

A survey tool called KoboCollect was recommended to our team by a researcher with a lot experience working in Malawi. The main benefit of this platform is it's offline support. The platform has an app for Android phones, but a web form must be used for iPhones (still works offline).

If you have any other suggestions for data collection, please leave a comment. Collecting data is an integral part of most projects at PE and collaborating will make surveying easier and more efficient.
