[Adopted Experiment]: Channels - Headmen - Loaning System - Fuel Fiji July 2019

Lean Phase: Channels


Timebox: 2 weeks


Assumption: Headmen are willing to act as a distribution channel for Buka 4.0 stoves.


Success metric: Number of stoves sold during the loan period.




Green light: Loaning system of Buka stoves to headman can extend to a greater period of 6 months - can increase the number of stoves loaned by the headman.


Success point: More than 2 headman sell at least 1 Buka stove.


Orange light:


  • The approach of headman in reaching the target market.

  • The marketing material provided to the headman


Failure point: No stoves are sold by headman


Red light: Refine the headmen sales pipeline to headmen solely collecting EOIs.


Experiment build:


  1. Loan 2 Buka 4.0 stoves to 2-3 headman for a period of 2 weeks. 

  2. Headmen to take the stoves around village to show to potential customers

  3. After a period of 2 weeks, visit the headman to retrieve the stoves.

  4. If the headman has sold a loaned stove (at a markup price) within the 2 weeks, collect the payment of 90 FJD, and the difference is kept as commission by the headman.
