[Adopted Experiment] Female Sanitation and Hygiene Malawi – Offer testing/UVP – July 2019
This experiment is to be conducted in conjunction with experiment ‘Problem Definition’ and ‘Customer Segment
Lean Phase: UVP (unique value proposition)
Assumption: Our customer segments identify with the problem statement and express an interest in our unique value proposition.
Time Period: 2 weeks
Success Metric: 60% of participants respond positively to UVP (Unique Value Proposition) and CTA (Call To Action) (see experiment build below)
CRITERIA
Green Light – Proceed to currency testing/solution
Success Point – More than 60% of women/girls positively respond to UVP and CTA (call to action)
Orange Light – Analyse experiment build and AB test CTA’s
Failure Point – Less than 30% of women/girls positively respond to UVP and CTA
Red Light – Reassess assumptions and analyse potential influences impacting data
EXPERIMENT BUILD
Experiment Build A)
To be conducted in community meetings testing with Customer Segment 1: Menstruating women over the age of 18 who use materials to manage their menstruation
- Following community meetings in which the participants complete the survey (see Customer Segment and Problem Definition Experiments)
- Team are to count the number of participants at the meeting
- Team are to be in different stations of the hall/space with a form to record contact details
- One team member is to address the group and thank them all for their participation
- Team member is then to present the UVP:
“We are currently in the process of developing a solution that allows women to menstruate with dignity and comfort, so it no longer impacts your day to day life and productivity”
- Team member is then to present CTA:
“If you want to know more please approach a team member to ask us questions and to give us your contact details so we can contact you when we have a viable solution developed”
- Participants who approach team member to ask questions and provide their phone number are to be considered a positive response
- Team is to refer to success metrics to determine future action

Experiment Build B)
To be conducted externally through youth focus group facilitators testing Customer Segment 2: Menstruating School girls who use materials to manage their menstruation
- Following the completion of survey conduction, focus group facilitator is to count the number of attendants
- Facilitator is to thank participants and present UVP:
“Project Everest are currently in the process of developing a solution that allows women to menstruate with dignity and comfort, so it no longer impacts your day to day life and productivity”
- Facilitator is to present CTA:
'If such a solution is something you would be interested in please raise your hand'
- Facilitator is to count number of hands raised, record number and send to team along with number of attendants.
- Participants who raise their hand are to be considered a positive response
- Team are to analyse and refer to success metric for future action
