What are the stages of FOCUS and WHY do we do them? 

1. Finding Early Adopters

In Finding Early Adopters, you are answering the question: Is there a problem to be solved? Were there customers you wanted to serve, who were actively trying to solve a problem?

2. Offer Testing

In Offer Testing, you answered the question: Are customers ready for you to solve the problem? By optimizing your marketing message and channels, were you able to find enough Early Adopters curious about a solution to the problem?

3. Currency Testing

In the Currency Testing phase of your development, you will ask: Will they pay for a solution? 

4. Utility Testing

Utility Testing is all about, can you solve the customers problem? 

Utility Testing is not creating an MVP, an MVP is a version of a new product which allows a team to collect the maximum amount of validated learning about customers with the least effort. In other words, an MVP is the simplest thing you can build, that helps you learn "the maximum amount of validated learning." 

For Utility Testing you will be testing whether you can be sufficiently useful to your customers through measuring 3 things:

i. Emotional Delta

ii. Customer Life Time Value

iii. Viral Coefficient

5. Scaling.
